Repeat Prescriptions

There are a number of ways you can order repeat medications.

  1. ONLINE – you can order your medication online once you are registered for online ordering.  Please speak to one of our receptionists and they will explain the simple process by which you can register to order your medication online.  This is the quickest, easiest & most convenient method of ordering your repeat prescription.
  2. Prescription Ordering Direct (POD) service – this is a telephone service by which patients can ring a dedicated telephone line where a trained operator will have access to your records (with your permission) and can order your medication for you.  The telephone number for the POD is 01384 323222.  Lines are open Monday to Friday between 10am to 2pm.
  3. You can also request your repeat prescription by handing in your repeat prescription slip at reception.  If you don’t have a repeat prescription slip you can request one from reception.  The repeat prescription slips can be handed directly to the receptionist when reception is open or alternatively can be posted to the surgery either through the letter box by hand or posted by Royal Mail.

Generally speaking we always advise that you order your repeat prescription two working days in advance.  This enables the prescriptions to be printed, checked and then signed by the doctors.  If you require the prescription to be posted back to you, please enclose a stamped, addressed envelope.

It would help us if people did not request their repeat medications at the same time as consulting the doctor, as this can cause considerable delays for other patients and can cause decreased efficiency of our computer systems.

Did you know that we can now send your prescription electronically?

Sending electronically means we can send your prescription securely through our computer system to any pharmacy of your choice.

You simply have to let us know which pharmacy you would like us to send your prescription to and we will do the rest!

This will save you having to come to the surgery to collect your prescription and take it to the pharmacy.

Once you have ordered your repeat prescription you can simply collect it from whichever pharmacy you have told us to send your prescription to!
